The star { D’r Stearawirt }
The Stearawirt, our main house, is a true traditional house in Steeg am Lech. The house was built in the middle of the 18th century, over 250 years ago. The Stearawirt has also been owned by the Hauser family for just as long. Since 2004, hosts Guntram and Tanja have been running the business in the 4th generation with ever-growing dedication and love of tradition.
Even though the main building has been supplemented by the new modern design building, the Hauserei, the history of the Stearawirt can still be felt today. Whether in the rooms or when enjoying the culinary delights – the duality of the two hotels can be experienced everywhere.
The Lechtaler Stube
The parlor in the Stearawirt is an original Lechtal farmhouse parlor, the likes of which are hard to find anymore. Here you can really feel the magic of times gone by. Half of the paneling in the parlor is around 200 years old. The other half, as well as the many beautiful carvings, were made about 50 years ago. At the beginning of the 1970s, when the trend was to replace the traditional Lechtal farmhouse parlors with newer, more modern rooms, the former landlord, Guntram Hauser II senior, already knew how to appreciate and preserve the traditional and time-honored. With great attention to detail and craftsmanship, he did not tear out the parlor, but on the contrary, enlarged it in meticulous detail work. To this day, you can experience this incredible craftsmanship up close at the Stearawirt.
The fact that the sense and feeling for the value of past things and traditions runs through the entire family can also be seen in the fact that Guntram Hauser I even recorded the preservation of the farmhouse parlor in its original form in writing in his will.
